About CEMR

The Columbia Emerging Markets Review (CEMR) is an undergraduate publication dedicated to analysis of the economic, political, and social developments shaping emerging markets and developing economies.

CEMR was established by the Columbia Emerging Markets Society, founded in 2023. Through research, discussion, and editorial collaboration, the Society and Review explore issues affecting economies and societies across Latin America, Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East.

The Review publishes original undergraduate analysis on topics including economic development, financial markets, trade and investment, political economy, international relations, and the evolving role of emerging economies in the global economy. Our articles seek to provide accessible, research-driven perspectives on important developments across these regions.
